About Us
Industrial Cryogenic Technologies, LLC
Industrial Cryogenic Technologies, LLC (ICT) was established in 2013 to market, design and engineer point of use process cooling solutions incorporating liquid nitrogen. ICT offers a basic design (CryoCut 2.5™) that is typically modified to fit specific requirements of the end-user. ICT operates primarily out of it’s Macungie, PA location where we share a 17,000sq/ft facility with Advanced Research Systems (ARS). ICT also shares 5000sq/ft facility in Rockaway, NJ with Unified Manufacturing and Design (UMD) where we maintain a state of the art, contemporary CNC machine shop. At this site we have 5 vertical CNC mills, 3 CNC lathes, assorted support equipment and offer contract cryogenic machining. We Also use this equipment for proof of concept customer trials. Both locations are close to major airports should the customer wish to visit.

Experience
In 2013 ARS president Ravi Bains partnered with Richard “Rick” Knopf to lead Business Development at ICT. As cofounder and former owner of Mid-atlantic CNC located in Lebanon, NJ, Rick served as Vice President, Head Engineer, CNC Application Sales and Service from 1987 to 2013. Prior to growing the MidAtlantic business in the US, Rick was employed by Maruka USA in Pine Brook, NJ as Sales and Service Manager for Maruka’s CNC machine tool products. During the course of his 33 years in the machine tool industry, Rick developed extensive experience with many machine tool builders, tooling companies, third party accessory suppliers and applications development with end users. Now with seven years’ experience applying cryogenics to machining numerous materials, Rick is well qualified to discuss the potential benefits of the CryoCut 2.5™ cryogen delivery system for your machining needs. Also, within the past seven years we have explored many other needs for spot cooling using liquid nitrogen (see Applications) that have nothing to do with machining metals. We have found there are numerous application possibilities.
ICT is pleased to announce a collaboration with Dimensional Control, Inc., located in South Windsor, CT. Dimensional Control inc. is a technology leader in the field of automatic coolant nozzle systems for machining centers. They have designed an automatic coolant nozzle system called Cryo SpiderCool which operates at cryogenic temperatures in conjunction with the ICEFLY® Cryogen Delivery System to supply automated delivery of cryogenic liquid nitrogen or low-temperature gaseous nitrogen to the cooling applications.
Cryo SpiderCool memorizes where cryogenic nitrogen is aimed at each tool, then adjusts automatically while the machine is running so the coolant stream is aligned to the spindle centerline.
Cryo SpiderCool consists of:
Nozzle assembly
Control unit
Remote adjustment knob, cabling, and mounting hardware
A closed-loop servo motor which automates the coolant stream
