About Us
Industrial Cryogenic Technologies, LLC
Industrial Cryogenic Technologies, LLC (ICT) was founded in 2013 by Advanced Research Systems of Macungie Pennsylvania to commercialize a patented portfolio of cryogenic machining intellectual property and technology. The intellectual property includes the cryogen delivery device(s), know how and applications technology.
The company specializes in the design, manufacture and implementation of cryogenic machining systems and liquid nitrogen cooling solutions for advanced manufacturing applications.
ICT has evolved as a world class manufacturer of turn key cryogenic cooling systems for advanced manufacturing, and is the sole supplier of the Icefly® and CryoCut™ systems.

Ravi Bains, Co-Founder
As Founder and CEO of Advanced Research Systems, Inc. (ARS), Ravi brings over 40 years of experience in cryogenic engineering, system design, and applied research. Under his leadership, ARS has become a trusted provider of advanced cryogenic solutions for research institutions, laboratories, and high-technology industries around the world.
Recognizing the potential of cryogenics beyond the lab, Ravi partnered with Richard Knopf in 2013 to establish Industrial Cryogenic Technologies (ICT).
His career reflects a passion for innovation, sustainability, and collaboration, and his work continues to shape the way cryogenic technologies are integrated into modern manufacturing.

Richard "Rick" Knopf, Co-Founder
As the former owner of Mid-Atlantic CNC in Lebanon, NJ, Rick brings decades of hands-on experience in CNC machine tools, applications engineering, and advanced manufacturing processes. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for helping manufacturers solve complex machining challenges and for driving innovation on the shop floor.
Rick has been a true pioneer in applying cryogenics to CNC machining. His work with the CryoCut™ has helped manufacturers in aerospace, medical devices, energy, and defense industries achieve measurable gains in performance and productivity.
Today, he continues to play a central role in product development and technical expertise to help organizations integrate CryoCut™ solutions with confidence.

Brett Clutter, Implementation Manager
Brett joined Industrial Cryogenic Technologies in 2024, bringing with him decades of hands-on expertise in CNC machining and manufacturing processes. As the founder of G3CNC, Brett has dedicated his career to advancing CNC knowledge, training the next generation of machinists, and helping manufacturers achieve higher precision, efficiency, and reliability.
At Industrial Cryogenic Technologies, Brett applies his deep manufacturing background in machining in implementing and process optimization to support customers adopting CryoCut™ systems, ensuring they maximize the benefits of cryogenic machining.
The ICT Advantage
At ICT, we specialize in the research and development of cryogenic equipment designed for the manufacturing industry. As advanced materials continue to evolve, we provide the solutions you need to successfully machine them—helping you manufacture what was once thought impossible.
Our commitment is to design and build cryogenic systems that empower your business to reach its manufacturing goals with greater precision, efficiency, and reliability. Through continuous innovation and superior engineering, ICT delivers the tools that keep you ahead in an ever-changing industrial landscape.
Our Commitment to You
At Industrial Cryogenic Technologies (ICT), we design and build our own CryoCut™ systems, giving us the flexibility to adapt solutions for the most demanding machining applications. Whether it’s aerospace alloys, medical-grade materials, or advanced composites, our technology is engineered to meet the challenges of modern manufacturing head-on.
Our commitment goes beyond the equipment—we’re here to support you every step of the way. From application guidance and system integration to ongoing service and training, our team is dedicated to ensuring you get the maximum benefit from cryogenic machining.
We believe that long-term success is built on two things: the quality of our technology and the strength of our customer relationships. That’s why we continually invest in advancing our CryoCut™ product line, expanding our capabilities, and working closely with manufacturers to solve real-world machining challenges.
The partnerships we’ve built with our customers across industries are a true reflection of our success—and we look forward to helping you achieve yours.
ARS was founded in 1986 and has grown to become a world-class manufacturer and supplier of cryogenic equipment. With engineering and manufacturing skills in electronics, welding, controls, design, assembly, and testing down to 4°K, ARS is able to provide engineering and manufacturing support for ICT, as well as global sales and service capabilities.
ICT is pleased to announce a collaboration with Dimensional Control, Inc., located in South Windsor, CT. Dimensional Control inc. is a technology leader in the field of automatic coolant nozzle systems for machining centers. They have designed an automatic coolant nozzle system called Cryo SpiderCool which operates at cryogenic temperatures in conjunction with the ICEFLY® Cryogen Delivery System to supply automated delivery of cryogenic liquid nitrogen or low-temperature gaseous nitrogen to the cooling applications.
Cryo SpiderCool memorizes where cryogenic nitrogen is aimed at each tool, then adjusts automatically while the machine is running so the coolant stream is aligned to the spindle centerline.
Cryo SpiderCool consists of:
Nozzle assembly
Control unit
Remote adjustment knob, cabling, and mounting hardware
A closed-loop servo motor which automates the coolant stream

ICT works with Genesys Controls located in Landisville, PA. We interface with them when designing and building our cryogenic units. We can work with your engineering division to design and incorporate your requirements into our equipment. In many instances our equipment becomes part of your assembly. By working together we can avoid duplication of some control components (ie, power supplies, control relays, etc) and reduce cost. Our goal is to provide seemless integration if and when needed to your system.
ICT is partnered with G3CNC to provide professional independent applications engineering and installation support. G3CNC specializes in advanced applications engineering and provides effective, affordable, and easy-to-use training programs that empower CNC manufacturing employees to be more reliable, productive and engaged, to thrive in their roles—and help CNC machining companies reach new levels of productivity and success. We do this by capturing the knowledge of the most experienced industry professionals and converting that into training content.
